AROMATHERAPY INCENSE

I just adore incense. In my teens, I used to love filling the whole suburb I lived in with giant clouds of intensely sweet, floral Indian agarbattis. Then, as a necessary part of my human evolution, I switched to the wonder of heating pure resins on charcoal and on electric incense heaters. Heaven!

These are my current favourite pure aromatherapy blends, crafted into hand-dipped incense. Our sticks are made from bamboo blanks and pure makko powder (no toxic combustibles, no saltpeter, no DPG). The essential oils I choose are premium quality, and each stick is generously infused with rare and precious botanical materials. These original fragrances are lavish, natural and reference the matching perfumes of the same names.

These small packs contain 10 sticks with an approximate burning time of 15 – 20 mins per stick. I enjoy this size as they scent the average space of an indoor room without becoming too smoky or overwhelming. The same fragrance blends are also available in large and extra large packs which are wonderful in shared spaces, very large rooms etc.

BLACKBIRD – This mysterious and beautiful incense is a companion to the forthcoming fragrance, however the incense does not contain Qadeem oud. Rose de Mai, Osmanthus Night-blooming jasmine, Gardenia, Ginger Lily, Atlas Cedar, Sumatran Patchouli,  Labdanum, Orris root, Ambrette Seed and Mysore Sandalwood.

ROSE VIOLET – An unforgettable afternoon tea-party with Great Aunt Sneja; a steaming samover of Russian Caravan, tea-leaf readings, Pucini, potted palms, teeny little sandwiches and giant cut crystal vases overflowing with glorious red roses. Sneja’s Parma violets steal the show and her cat, Stravinski, (the Burmese blue), blinks at you with infinite patience (and endless judgement). Heaven! Javanese Cinnamon, Cypress, Sumatran Patchouli, Lemongrass, Vanilla and Mysore Sandalwood. Great for satisfying the yearning to dance on the beach all night under the stars, as waves crash and tigers watch on through the trees …even if only in our dreams. WILD SPACE –  A superb wilderness blend, this incense is deeply restorative, total rejuvenation for the primitive soul. Bergamot, Cypress, Juniper, Cedarwood, Frankincense, Myrrh and Vetiver.
